Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA) has been working in the Tampa Bay area since 1977 providing refuge, crisis intervention, advocacy, professional training and community outreach to break the silence that isolates domestic violence victims and prevents them from a life of hope, independence and peace.
Thirty percent of Americans say that they know a woman who has been physically abused by her husband or boyfriend in the past year.  Domestic violence also affects same-sex relationships and men as victims.  Abusive patterns of behavior takes many forms including verbal, emotional, financial and sexual abuse.  More than 1000 domestic violence calls come to South Pinellas law enforcement each month and approximately 95% of these victims are women.
