Devotional

This year our theme is Declare His Name - Each week, we will have a different devotional message on our web page. We pray that this message brings you into a closer relationship with the God who loves you more than you can possibly imagine, and will result in your Declaring His Name in every aspect of your life.

Let us dig deeper into what this Divine Embrace, this Divine dance really looks like……
Dancing with the Divine calls for us to surrender. We must surrender the baggage of yesterday. Surrender the wants of our own heart. And let go of the lead and step into His Embrace and allow HIM to take the lead. We must surrender whatever we have in our hands. We must have empty hands and an open heart to step into this sacred embrace. There is nothing more frustrating to dance with someone who has their hands full of other things. These things get in the way of the beauty and purpose of the dance. These things range from things we want to things we hold on to because we have believed the lie that we need to hold on to them. Things like fear, control, our own satisfaction, pride, ignorance and sin. We cannot step into His Divine Embrace if we are holding on to things we want. Dancing with the Divine involves a commitment to what He wants and desires. It involves the “not my will but Thine” approach.
In his book “Daring to Dance with God” author Jeff Walling says this about dancing with the Divine… “He demands that we open ourselves to the unexpected, the unpredictable and even the unexplainable. The Bible is full of instances where God chose to work in outrageous and shocking ways; Walls fell down. Water stood up. Bread sprang from the ground. Dead bodies brought back to life. And the sun stood still. And the days of His surprises are far from over….”
It is my prayer that as we move forward into a new ministry year, that we as His partners will drop what we are holding onto that is not of Him, and step freely and without reservation into His Holy Embrace and allow Him to lead us in the most intimate of celestial dances. And I pray that as we do so we will be ready to be swept off our feet. As author Jeff Walling states “the days of His surprises are far from over”
There are great things He desires to do in and through us as women. I urge you to surrender…to let go of the baggage of the past…..to empty your hands of whatever it is you are holding onto…..and to step into His Embrace freely allowing Him to take the lead. And let’s get ready to dance……
