Downtown Food Outreach
— Dear brothers and
sisters, what's the use of saying you have faith if you don't prove it
by your actions? That kind of faith can't save anyone. Suppose you see
a brother or sister who needs food or clothing, and you say, "Well,
good-bye and God bless you; stay warm and eat well" – but then you
don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So
you see, it isn't enough just to have faith. Faith that doesn't show
itself by good deeds is no faith at all – it is dead and useless.
The ministry to the homeless takes place every third Saturday of other other month in downtown Los Angeles
(Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov). We distribute food and other
items of need(blankets, hats, etc.), as well as minister through song,
prayer and a brief message from the Word. There is a need for
servants to assist with the shopping for the items, servants to assist
with the packaging of the items, as well as servants to assist in the
distribution and to participate in the praise and worship. We
meet to serve at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of 6th and San Julian streets
between Los Angeles St. and San Pedro St.
