1st Visit

I'm New

It's not easy visiting a church for the first time. Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will I be conspicuous? Will it be easy to leave if I don't enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress? Am I welcome if I don't believe?

At Charter Oak Church we have three worship services each weekend.
Saturday at 5pm is a come as you are contemporary worship service.  Sunday at 9:00am we have a traditional style worship service.  Sunday at 11am we have a contemporary style worship service.

As you drive onto our campus, turn on your flashers. We want our parking attendants to recognize that you are new to Charter Oak Church. You will be directed to visitor parking. At the front door, there will be some friendly people to greet you, answer any questions you have, and direct you to our Christian Life Center. For your children we have Children's Ministry at 8:45 and 10:45. It is a creative, dynamic, hands-on experience for kids to grow in their faith. If you have younger children (birth through two years old), you are welcome to bring them to our nursery before any of our worship services begin. Stop by Guest Services as someone will direct you to the nursery or classroom. If your kids are shy, they're welcome to remain with you during the entire worship gathering, but most kids really enjoy our Children's Ministry.

When you enter the Christian Life Center, you'll be given a copy of our weekend worship folder which has the week's announcements and an agenda for the morning worship experience. It is designed to help you take notes, sign up for activities, or order a CD of the worship service. You can place the tear-off section in the offering basket during worship. That's all we'll ask you to place in the basket; there is no pressure to give. You are our guest!

As well, when you enter the Christian Life Center, you'll notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from "office casual" to jeans and shorts in the summer. Take your pick.

The worship service begins with music. You'll be invited to sing along or feel free to enjoy the music and take in its message. We'll spend some time in prayer. We'll read from the Bible, God's Word, and then one of our teaching pastors will present a message that's based upon the Bible - and yet is interesting, enjoyable and relevant.

After worship, stop by the Connect Room just outside of the Christian Life Center. We have a gift there just for you. Charter Oak Church is all about God and worship, but it's also about community and friendship, so we hope you will experience warmth and connection at Charter Oak Church.

If you have any specific questions we encourage you to visit our Guest Services in the lobby or look for anyone wearing a name badge. Staff, greeters, and lobby hosts are available to answer any questions. We look forward to meeting you soon!
