This Week in Worship: Why Jesus? Beginning this Sunday we will spend three weeks answering three questions that every church must answer. 1) Why do people need Jesus? 2) Why do people need the church? and 3) Why do people need our church? New Summer Worship Schedule Begins, June 5th From June 5th- Sept. 4th we will enter summer worship. Our Sunday worship schedule will be as follows: 9:00 AM Traditional Worship 10:00-10:30 Coffee Fellowship 10:30 AM Contemporary Worship We are very excited about this and will share with you in the weeks to come ways that you can help. Special Offering for Tornado Relief This Sunday we will again be collecting a special offering to help with the tornado recovery. The tornadoes that tore through the south (including VA)and east last week left us with heartbreaking images of destroyed property and the grief of lost life. It will take years to rebuild these communities. Once again we will have the opportunity to participate in a special offering for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). 100% of this offering will go to assist victims of this disaster and will go to both Virginia and Alabama efforts.
Tropical Smoothie Night, May 24th Join us at Tropical Smoothie Cafe and enjoy great food for a great cause! Come out to Tropical Smoothie in Short Pump on Tuesday, May 24th to support the Children's Ministry trip to Camp KidJam this July. We will receive 20% of the event's sales from 5-8pm. Flyers will be available at all worship services on May 22nd.
Crystal V. Parker is Leaving St. Matthew’s It is with sad news that we inform you that our director of youth ministry, Crystal Parker is leaving St. Matthew’s. Crystal has been with St. Matthew’s for year and a half and will be greatly missed. Crystal’s last Sunday will be May 22nd.
