Pastor Jenkins was born and raised in Kinston, N.C. to Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Jenkins, Sr. It was there that he received his primary education at home and through the public school system. He was married to Donna Sheryl Davis, high school sweetheart, on September 26, 1974 and the father of two sons, Elder Mario T. Jenkins (Quandria), and Elder Dontae L. Jenkins (Zanovia) and grandfather of four Omari, Mason, Dontae II, and Devin.
He earned a bachelors of art in Secondary Education and a minor in Biblical Studies from Southeastern University.
He is the founder of the City of Refuge COGIC and the Greater Lakeland
District, Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida under the leadership of Bishop Matthew Williams, Adjutant General Church of God in Christ.
Pastor Jenkins has served City of Refuge COGIC and the Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida faithfully for over 20 years.
