Those who call New Horizons their "home" church regularly give a tithe of all their income to the Lord. The word "tithe" means "tenth" and it is an important way of honoring God with 10% of all our income. In a practical manner, it enables us to advance His Kingdom through His personal and corporate call on our lives. Tithing is one means by which we can demonstrate a generous lifestlye that is consistent with living like royal sons and daughters of the King.
God promises a special blessing on anyone who "tithes" and gives generous "offerings" in addition - at the prompting of the Holy Spirit:
Malachi 3:10
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. NIV
