Ministry of Music
The music ministry at Garden Lakes Baptist Church includes choirs for preschoolers, children, adults, handbell ringers, and senior adults.
The Music Time Choir (Preschool) is composed of 3 - 5 year old boys and girls. They meet on Sunday evenings from 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the KidsZone. The purpose of the choir is to help children discover the wonderful world of music, to learn to express themselves through music, to experiment with melody and rhythm instruments, and to develop basic musical concepts.
The Young Musicians Choir is composed of boys and girls grades 1-5. They meet on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the KidsZone. The purpose of this choir is to help children learn to sing tunefully, to recognize and read musical notation, and to become acquainted with musical harmony, form and expression.
The Sanctuary Choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 in the choir room. This choir provides music on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 worship hour as well as music for seasonal emphasis during the church year. There are no auditions for this choir. All persons interested in singing and providing worship leadership are welcome.
The Senior Adult Choir meets Tuesdays (except the 2nd Tuesday, which is Women on Mission meeting day), at 10 a.m. in the choir room. This group sings for the monthly RAY (Retired Active Youthful) Club meetings and occasional sings at assisted living and nursing care facilities.
The Jubilate Ringers is our adult handbell choir. This group meets on Sunday afternoons from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the choir room.
