What We Believe

Like all the churches in the Foursquare movement, our mission is to present Jesus Christ, God's Son, to every person in every culture and nation as the Savior, the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, the Healer, and the Soon-returning King.
In a culture where it seems like everything is relative and even truth is reduced to interpretation, it is more important than ever to stand for something authentic and constant. We believe:

    * There is a God who created the heavens, the earth, and everything in it from nothing (Genesis 1).
    * This same God created us in His image, to know us and be known by us (Genesis 1:26-27).
    * The Holy Bible is the Word of the living God; as true, immutable, steadfast, unchangeable, as its author, the Lord Jehovah; that it was written by holy men of old as they were moved upon and inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16,17).
    * The Trinity of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).
    * Man was created in the image of God, but through man's voluntary disobedience, he fell from perfection (Romans 5:12).
    * While we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon of all who believe on Him (John 3:16; Romans 5:8).
    * We have no adequate righteousness of our own and must (and can only) come to God pleading the righteousness of Christ (Ephesians 2:8).
    * The change that takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a very real one (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).
It is the will of God that we be sanctified daily, growing constantly in the faith (Hebrews 6:1).
    * The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is to empower the believer in the same manner as in Bible days (Acts 2:4).
    * The Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the Christian, and we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life (I Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22).
    * The second coming of Christ is personal and imminent (I Thessalonians 4:16, 17).
    * All shall stand some day before the judgment seat of God, and there receive eternal life or death (2 Corinthians 5:10).
    * Heaven is the glorious eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17).
    * Hell is the place of eternal torment for all who reject Christ as the Savior (Revelation 20:10,15).
    * Soul winning is the most important responsibility of the Church (James 5:20).

“Foursquare” is a biblical term that described the altar in the Book of Exodus (27:1), the courtyard of the Lord's temple (Ezekiel 40:47), and Heaven itself (Revelation 21:16). It represents that which is equally balanced on all sides, established, and enduring. Such confidence in the power of the Gospel is also expressed by the verse, Hebrews 13:8, displayed in all Foursquare churches proclaiming, “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever.” The four squares symbolize Jesus Christ as The Savior, The Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, The Healer, and The Soon-Coming King.
