Rita - ADOPTED!
Rita was rescued by Rev. Sam Korankye- Ankrah when he heard of her story on the news. With only $2000 she was treated and was brought to Love A Lot Children’s Home where she has since received parental care and love that she so much needed.
Baby Rita was abandoned because she had a urethrorectal fistula, a birth defect occurring in 1 out of every 5000 live births.
Urethrorectal fistula is a birth defect of unknown cause in which the gastrointestinal, urinary and genital tracts do not completely form. This malformation leads to the passing of urinary and fecal matter through the urinal tract. The afflicted are usually isolated due to unpleasant odor. The good news is that it is usually treatable! Rita’s mother could not afford the high cost of treatment and therefore took the easiest way out.
But now, Rita is a beautiful young girl with sterling qualities. The first thing you notice about Rita when you meet her is her jovial and endearing nature. She has a natural flair of connecting easily with anyone; by maintaining direct eye contact while communicating. Her charming looks and affable nature make her the sweetheart of all who come into contact with her.
Rita is also very intelligent and has a powerful command over the English language even though she hasn’t begun formal schooling. She is happy to be growing up in an environment where she is well nurtured and showered with lots of affection. With your help, Rita will grow up to be a lovely lady who is poised to succeed in life, considering the qualities she possesses and has begun exhibiting.
With your help we can rescue and transform many lives like Rita’s.
