The mission of the Prison Ministry is to provide spiritually mature, equipped, and motivated men and women to serve in correctional facilities nationally and internationally.
The early years consisted primarily of monthly worship services for the inmate population at the Bridgeport Correction Center (and occasionally at other facilities, chiefly Somers and Enfield Correction Centers). Services usually were about forty-five minutes and free form without a program. A team of seven provide ministry of songs of their own choosing and testimonies.
Other dimensions of the Prison Ministry include weekly bible studies, letter writing; personal visitations, along with ongoing nurturing/aftercare and release follow-up. Future visions include the establishment of a Christian halfway and re-entry ministry support network.
