When someone understands that their very spiritual identity has changed, changed behavior will follow. No one can earn salvation by being good. For how good is good enough? Only by the Grace of God are we able to enter into and keep this eternal relationship.
Isn't it amazing to think that as a Christian, God sees us as forgiven (of all past, present and future sins), loved, accepted, pure, holy, a saint, a child of God, adopted spiritually, righteous and the list goes on. Not because of what we do or have done, but because of what God has done in and through His Son Jesus Christ! Wow- that is pretty amazing!
Just know that God made you in His image so that He could know you in a personal way. It doesn't start by trying to clean up our act and being a better person. It begins with a cry from our heart telling God that we cannot live this life any longer and that we ask God to forgive us of our sins and give us eternal life in Jesus Christ. It is not the words we use, but the attitude of our hearts. Then we exchange our plans, ways, desires and dreams for His.
