**Important News Bulletin Regarding Haiti**
On January 12th, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake hit ten miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Devastation in the area includes a collapsed hospital and houses that have tumbled into nearby ravines. To the impoverished people of Haiti this type of natural disaster is nothing short of catastrophic. Hillcrest Chapel has a close relationship with Childcare Worldwide, an organization that has been working on behalf of the poor in Haiti for years and is actively involved in the earthquake relief. We recommend you visit

**Regarding Hillcrest Missionary Dana VerBurg**
Dana has been in Haiti working in an orphanage right in the heart of Port au Prince. Below is an update from Dana:

"... so after two rough days, I woke up feeling really refreshed and much more joyful ... God has restored hope into me and everyone else here. We're able to bless the communities around us more, and have a better sense of direction of what we're to be doing. So praise God for that! We need continued prayer for direction, and that all of us will cling to the hope that God freely gives us. Jeremiah 29:11 really stuck out to me today, more than it ever has before actually, and it just made me realize that GOD PROMISES HOPE! Even when we feel like there's not much hope to cling onto, there is, because He says there is.
I started doing inventory today of all of the donations we have, and am in charge of making sure all of our staff families have adequate food for their households. I'm getting the guest house all in order again by collecting more sheets and towels and trying to get all of our mattresses back (SO many of our sheets and the children's sheets were used on our 350 patients in our triage center, so now they're just bloody and useless to us). I'm getting ready to start up our feeding program again (our kids have been getting food from another lady down the street who has been feeding 450 children daily). Some of my feeding program kids are now living in the province(country) with their families, and I'm not sure if they're all okay...or alive...so the role call sheet will be revised these next few weeks. I really want to just feed as many as we possibly can, and minister to as many children as possible; so be praying for wisdom as we restart the feeding program.
There's a couple named Sylvie and Andre who lost their home in the earthquake who have been staying with us. They've been such a blessing to have here. They're so sweet, and I'm so glad they're here! They have huge hearts and are planning to start up a ministry soon. I've enjpyed getting out with them to see the different parts of our area of town and ministering to all of the people there.
Please continue to pray for their safety, as well as their ongoing security concerns. We'll continue to post any updates we receive from Dana.
