2012 Cast/Crew Positions

 
Group/Tour Leader:
 
Position Description

    This is the lead role in production.  Responsible to lead the groups, or families through the 12 scenes in the production.  Ability and willingness to learn scripted dialog. Each journey is one mile, and role requires a minimum of 3 to 4 journeys per evening.

Requirements
  • Male or Female
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Ability to memorize script
  • Strong speaking voice
  • Ability to walk distance
  • Commitment for six nights
 
Group/Tour Assistant:
 
Position Description

    Non Speaking Role – Walks with group and keeps “family” together.  Will be responsible to inform Group Leader of any problems concerning safety of group. While this is not a speaking part individual will need to be able to interact with members of the group, and keep group together and away from fire pits.

Requirements
  • Male or Female
  • Minimum age 12 years old
  • Ability to walk distance
  • Non-scripted interaction with group members
  • Commitment for six nights

Wise Men:
 
Position Description

    This is a speaking role, and is one of three wise men.  The speaking role is easy to learn

Requirements
  • Male 
  • Strong speaking voice
  • Minimum age 25 years old
  • Beard is optional/preferred
  • Ability to memorize small scripted part
  • Commitment for six nights

Inn Keeper:
 
Position Description

    This is a speaking role and is a couple who are inn keepers.  Brief speaking role is easy to learn.

Requirements
  • Male and female
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Beard is optional/preferred (for the man) 
  • Ability to memorize small scripted part
  • Commitment for six nights

Village Merchants:
 
Position Description

   Non-scripted speaking roles for merchants who are selling various wares in the Bethlehem Marketplace scene.  Interaction between actors and group/family members as they visit the various merchant’s booths in the marketplace.  The marketplace is cold, but heaters are provided for warmth.  Requires merchant dress warmly.  Verbal interactions are brief and can be spontaneous.  Ideal position for parent who has a child who wants to participate in production and is under 15.  Families are perfect in this position.

Requirements
  • Male or female
  • Minimum age 15 years old
  • Ability to be comfortable speaking to families
  • Can be cool - wear warm clothes under costume
  • Commitment for six nights

Shepherd:
 
Position Description

    Speaking role in the Shepherd/Angel Scene.  One of most dramatic and important scenes in the program. 

Requirements
  • Male
  • Minimum age 16  years old
  • Strong speaking voice
  • Ability to memorize small scripted role
  • Commitment for six nights

Mapmaker:
 
Position Description
 
   This is a speaking role and applicant must have a loud speaking voice
 
Requirements
  • Male
  • Minimum age 21
  • Strong speaking voice
  • Ability to memorize lines
  • Commitment for six nights

Parking Crew:
 
Position Description

   Responsible for flow of traffic into and out of   parking lot.
 
Requirements
  • Male or female
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to greet and interact with our guests

Concession Worker:
 
Position Description
 
    Assisting in selling coffee and hot chocolate in our concession booth.
 
Requirements
  • Male or female
  • Minimum age 16 years old
  • Ability to greet and interact with our guests

Security Personnel:
 
Position Description

   Patrolling grounds, providing safety for guests and insuring crowd control.
 
Requirements
  • Male
  • Minimum age 21 years old
  • Prefer law enforcement or security background

General Grounds Crew Support:
 
Position Description

    Various positions including feeding of animals/cleaning stalls, lighting torches each evening, cleaning and fueling lanterns, etc.
 
Requirements
  • Male or female
