Larry grew up in Derry, Pa. Graduating from Derry Area High School in 1984, then from Westmoreland County Community College in 1992 with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Larry worked in the construction industry for a number of years and would volunteer his time helping his parents in the camp kitchen. While volunteering at the camp, Larry met his wife Paula, who was a camp cook. They were married in 1994. In 1995, he was offered a full time position at the camp. Paula works as a Church Secretary at Derry Presbyterian Church where they worship, and their son, Jesse is a student at Derry Area High School and Eastern Westmoreland County Technical Center. Jesse has worked on Summer Staff, which makes him the 4
th generation in Larry’s family to work at Ligonier Camp
Larry has served his church as an Elder and his community as a Volunteer Firefighter. Larry’s favorite father-son activities are wood working & collecting John Deere tractors and memorabilia. Larry loves the atmosphere of the camp because “people treat you as a person…they accept you for who you are.”
