Ice Pond Capital Campaign
LCCC recently completed Phase I of A Legacy of Life: Building for Eternity! capital campaign to construct a new dining hall and make significant renovations to the camp. With the success of Phase I, we are currently launching Phase II of the campaign to raise $2.2 million dollars in order to renovate a recently purchased 58-acre property with an existing 25-acre lake located less than three miles from LCCC's primary campus.
The rehabilitation is necessary to update the infrastructure associated with the lake and provide needed improvements to the property for it to become a safe educational and recreational resource for campers, conference guests, and visitors. This rehabilitation will include:
- stream bank restoration and protection
- spillway construction and water control structure
- algae control management
- preparation of the beach area
In addition to the benefits of having access to the lake for waterfront activities such as kayaking, boating and swimming, the property features will also include a pavilion, sports court, walking trail, laser tag, and a field to play various sports. In the winter, ice-skating and other winter activities may be available.
The goal of the Ligonier Ice Pond Campaign is to conserve the rich ecological characteristics of this beautiful piece of property and to create access for the enjoyment of community groups, campers, and guests.
