Senior Pastor

"I was glad when they said unto me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord!" Psalm 122:1

With an extended hand and a joyful spirit, we welcome you to the Douglas Memorial Community Church website. We are blessed by your visit, and believe that our meeting here is not accidental, but a divine appointment!

We're excited to share with you the marvelous ways in which God's hand is at work in our lives, in our church, and in our community. Growing together we worship, we serve, we learn, and we reach out to the world with the life-transforming truth of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  It is through this Word that lives are changed and legacies are built.

Our doors and our hearts are open to you. Whether you're a new Christian, an experienced disciple, or searching for the path to your destiny, we invite you to share with us through the blessing of this website.  If you've been thinking, praying, searching, and hoping for a place to belong, we say "Come on in!  You are welcome!"

A Season of Fresh Blessings!

This is the time of year I often look forward to-almost. Spring brings with it new life and fresh rain as the earth begins to transition into the growing phase. However, for many of us, spring is also a time of difficult transition because the pollen in the air causes an allergic reaction. It almost seems contradictory to have new life and intense allergies at the same time.

Here's what I learned about springtime and allergies. God blesses us with new life and fresh blessings but because we are not accustomed to these blessings in their newness, we have to build our ability (tolerance) to enjoy them in their fulness. Hence, we sneeze, our eyes water, and our skin crawls around those fresh springtime blessings. But even in our sneezing, God is building up our tolerance for this new blessing. First, God prepares the blessing even as He must prepare us for the blessing. Then, God gives us the blessing so that we can learn how to receive the blessing.

Spring begins soon. If you begin to sneeze and your eyes water, just remember that this is the newness of the season. God has prepared a blessing for you that your system may not be ready for. So God must now prepare you to receive the fulness of the blessing He has for you.

Get excited today. God is getting you ready for a fresh blessing. Spring is coming! Are you ready?

T-O-D-A-Y is the best day of your life.
