Elder Eric L. Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Greater Love Church of God in Christ. He has served in various auxiliaries and ministries including the Sunday School and Youth Department as well as the Finance Committee and Trustee Board. He has endeavored to use all his abilites to promote the work of the church in advancing the Kingdom of God. Whatever his hands found to do, he did with all diligence expecting the help of the Lord to bring good success. During his service in the work of the Lord, he eventually acknowledged the call of the Lord to the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ and continued to serve his leader, Pastor Charles J. Brantley, for well over ten years. Upon the recommendation of his pastor, he was ordained in March 2006 as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by Bishop John D. Young, Sr., Prelate of the Northwest Florida Jurisdiction. After his pastor went home to be with the Lord, Bishop Young installed him as pastor in January 2008.
The departure of Greater Love’s Moses, Pastor Brantley, was a challenging and tumultuous period however the Lord blessed by shifting Elder Johnson and the faithful saints into a fresh grace and passion to do business for the Great King. During Elder Johnson’s short tenure as pastor, we have seen several souls added to the church, new life and vigor in the saints as well as expansion in the auxiliaries and ministries of the church. Pastor Johnson is fully persuaded that holiness is the way of the Lord and firmly believes we have Total Victory in Jesus’ name. His vision and heart’s desire is to see the Lord’s people empowered to prosper and empowered to excel in every area of life.
Pastor Johnson is married to the wife of his youth, Elect Lady Kendra L. Johnson, who faithfully assists him in life and ministry. The Lord has blessed their union with a daughter, Sarai, and a son, Braeden.
