Free groceries are available to Hagerstown residents who have applied for & received a “food pantry card” that is issued by Community Action Council or by the Department of Social Services. Those who have a card may receive food at Trinity Food Pantry once a month. The amount of food is determined by the size of the household. Families that have children under the age of 13 will also receive certain perishable “breakfast” items – milk, eggs, bread, margarine, cereal, etc. Families without a “food pantry card” may receive emergency food if referred by a local social agency, church, school, or other similar organization. Hours of operation: Tues,Wed, Thurs 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Free clothing, towels, sheets & similar items are available to local individuals & families. A special card is not required; folks in need of such items may visit the Clothing Bank without being referred. However, there are limitations on the frequency of visits during a particular period of time. Privileges are extended to individuals who exhibit proper conduct and who respect reasonable rules. Hours of operation: Tues,Wed, Thurs 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Trinity Community Outreach works in partnership with Bester Elementary & Eastern Elementary Schools to provide other assistance to local families who have children enrolled in these schools. The Micah's Backpack
program provides food for children in need at these schools. Other types of services are available depending entirely on the individual family situation, the nature of the particular need, the amount of financial assistance required and the amount of financial resources available. Interested parties are requested not to contact the schools directly, but to make initial contact to Trinity Outreach Center.
: Trinity Community Outreach office 301-733-5651. The office is generally open during the business hours of the Food Pantry & Clothing Bank. If there is no answer, please leave a message via voice mail.
: Contributions of food & clothing to the outreach center are greatly appreciated, and such donations are tax deductible (receipts will be provided upon request.) We must, however, insist that deliveries and “drop off’s” be made only during the business hours of the Food Pantry & Clothing Bank.
