The Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis was honored to welcome the Former US Ambassador for International Religious Freedom John Hanford. The Federation organized his visit to East 91st Christian Church on April 30th with Indiana's Former Secretary of State, Mr. Edwin Simcox, at the church. He and Dr. Angelique Walker-Smith, Federation Executive Director, were acknowledged during morning worship. She and Mr. Simcox accompanied him to the the youth and adult classes where he addressed matters of religious persecution and freedoms globally as a US diplomate.
On Wednesday, May 1st, The Federation hosted a continental breakfast with the Former Ambassador where he engaged the attendees in an informative and thought provoking discussion about matters of religious freedoms and persecution. He answered specific questions of the attendees and related to specific issues affecting Hoosiers. The Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis thanks the office of Senator Richard Lugar for partnering with us to create such a special opportunity for deepening the faith community's understanding of such timely and relevant issues today.
