January

Light the Night for Life, Barnes United Methodist Church; co-sponsored with Project SAFE Neighborhood Rev. Dr. Walker-Smith participated in Martin Luther King services

February

A forum to review the Federal Stimulus Package was held on February 27th. The goal was to review the package for the Faith-Based/Human Service sector.

Sacred Conversations: Business leaders and faith leaders met in partnership with the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce at Well Point (host) on February 27th.

Partnership with IRT and Christ Church Cathedral; Angelique participated in a panel discussion over the play To Kill a Mockingbird

Presentation and Q/A on Federal Economic Stimulus Package for the Human Service sector

March

We co-sponsor the Indiana Prayer Breakfast on March 10th at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
A New Pastor Orientation was held on March 26th to acquaint clergy to the ministry, mission and support services of The Church Federation.
Sacred Conversations: A training event was held March 24th with more pairings of churches

Angelique speaks at Church of God in Christ

May

Toward that end work included a gathering on May 31st at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church with approximately 10 churches. A luncheon was held at the Lilly Corporation along with the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. Seven pastors and 10 corporate leaders participated. A culminating Pentecost Service and fellowship is scheduled for Pentecost Sunday, May 31st.
 
Angelique speaks at Second Baptist Angelique participates in 175th Anniversary of Archdiocese of Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium 7 week training session of mentors for Ecumenical Project for Reconciliation & Healing began in Sacred Conversations: Racial Reconciliation Wrap up and Celebratory Worship and Discussion. The Community Organizing Training event, June 4-6 had approximately 30 churches and groups represented with 50 people in attendance.

three day conference, Community Organizing in Martindale-Brightwood Carillon concert at Butler University: The Music of a Lifetime of Music by Bill Engle. One song was dedicated to Angelique and The Church Federation: Darwall: Rejoice, The Lord Is King Three day Community Organizing Workshop with Rev. Dr. Alvin Love. Annual Call to Prayer for students and educational staff as everyone returns to school in August. The Church Federation co-sponsored preparation of the Healthcare Sabbath Weekend Resources for , Friday-Sunday, August 28 – 30, 2009

We participated in the worship service remembering Hurricane Katrina at the Greater Galilee Baptist Church on August 28th.

Religion, Race, and the Law

The Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis along with the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis and Justice Brent Dickson (host) held a forum and reception on the topic of RELIGION, RACE AND THE LAW which was part of its Sacred Conversations on racial reconciliation. The event was held at the Indiana Supreme Court Chambers and addressed the question, “What does it mean to have our first Hispanic-Latina Supreme Court member, Justice Sonia Sotomayor?” The event featured Honorable Myra C. Selby (Retired), the first African-American Indiana Supreme Court Justice. Additional Speakers included the following: Justice Brent Dickson, Indiana Supreme Court, The Honorable Lorenzo Arredondo, Judge of the Lake County Circuit Court, The Honorable David Shaheed, Municipal Court Judge, Indianapolis, IN, Henry C. Karlson, Professor of Law Emeritus, IU School of Law-Indianapolis, Rev. Dr. Huberto Pimentel, Hispanic Ministries, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and the Rev. Dr. Felipe Martínez, Whitewater Valley Presbytery. Simultaneous Spanish translation was also provided. The Confluence of Religion and Politics
