Sunday School Sunday, 9:45 AM
AIM Wednesday, 7:00 PM
The ROCK Saturday, 7:00-10:00 PM
The purpose of our teen ministry is to develop relational Christians who regularly sacrifice for God.
The process we have in place to achieve this is Foundation, Structure, and Investment.
Our weekly Saturday night teen meeting, The ROCK, is
student run with the support and guidance of our adult leaders. We have open gym, food, and may watch whatever big game is going on that week. There will also be a spiritual discussion.
The Rock provides an open environment for students to ask questions they have always wondered about. An anonymous question box is provided for those who would like to ask a question but may feel too embarrassed to ask. This allows students to interact with each other, while understanding the Biblical viewpoint.
We have 5th Quarter in the fall, an outreach to local teens after each home Radford High School football game. The ROCK and 5th Quarter are meant to expose teenagers to the foundational truths of the Bible.
Calvary has two weekly programs where the goal is to grow in the Bible and our walk with God. Our teen Sunday School is generally an expositional Bible study. We also have a teen meeting on Wednesday night called AIM. Wednesday night is about applying the Bible to our lives and encouraging each other mid-week. AIM is an acronym for Abide in Me. Sunday School and AIM exist to disciple teenagers, adding appropriate Biblical structure to their lives.
Our youth are significantly involved in reaching out to their peers and others with the Gospel. We plan outreach opportunities like our annual partnership with National Hoops Ministries. Our teens are also strongly encouraged to participate in church mission trips, church-wide outreach projects, and to generally invest in people for Christ.
