"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
What does the Newcomer Ministry do at St. George?
There are multiple ways to be involved in the Newcomer Ministry. We greet all visitors to St. George (Greeters). We give each visitor a Welcome Bag (Gift Bag Ministry). We follow up with each visitor with a phone call (Shepherds) to invite them to participate in a special rector-led class. We also serve as hosts for this special class (Discover Class Hosts). Lastly, we monitor newcomer engagement to help ensure they get the most out of the time at St. George.
When does the Newcomer Ministry meet?
An annual Greeters' meeting is held in August, and there is ongoing communication via email and phone calls. The ministry chair also meets weekly with the church administrator or rector.
Who can be a member of the Newcomer Ministry?
Anyone with a welcoming smile and an open heart!
***All Liturgical Ministries have a direct impact on our Sunday worship time at St. George Episcopal Church. Each month, the ministry heads gather in fellowship as our Liturgical Development Team to discuss our worship, music, liturgy, and praise.
