Married Couples Retreat
Couples:  Embracing Eccl. 4:12, this year's theme is You, Me & HE: The Strength and Power of Your Marriage.  Our October 16th-17th Marriage Retreat in Cary, NC is sure to Strengthen, Enhance and Fortify your marriage. The cost of $140 per couple includes accommodations (in Cary, NC), meals and all activities.  Balances are due by September 6th. Children's Church Update
We are indeed excited about the summer launch of our Children’s Church Ministry, Connect with Christ. God is moving in the lives of our children as we share Christ in a child friendly space. We will not have Children’s Church on 5th Sundays.  This allows our children and their parents/guardians the opportunity to worship together.  5th Sunday’s are a great time to participate in Sunday School and for Family Worship. 
Tutoring sessions will resume on September 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the CFL&RC at Lyon Park Family Life Center. Help is available in all subject areas and on all grade levels. Parents! This is an opportunity for your child to get an early start on academic success. Tutors are needed in all subjects, but especially in math. To volunteer, call Mrs. Shields at 919-688-7833.
The ACT (AIDS Care Team) Ministry is accepting donations of toiletry items and cleaning supplies this month for two residential communities operated by AIDS Community Residence Association (ACRA). Please place your items in the plastic bin in the atrium area. Contact Sis Channelle Marsh ( if you need more information.
The FCBC Food Pantry
Always welcomes donations of   non-perishable food items!  Types of Items Needed: rice, beans, jelly, peanut butter, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, canned veggies & fruit, tuna, pickles, soup, etc.  (This is a great community service project for your job or school…or even a great summer project!)

FCBC Nursery
Is available during 10:45 a.m. service for babies and children ages 10 months to 4 years. Parents, please consider joining the Nursery volunteer rotation as you sign your child up!

The West End Community Foundation, Inc.
CommUNITY Scholars After School Program is now accepting Applications for this coming school year.  The program is located at The Community Family Life and Recreation Center at Lyon Park (applications at front desk).  We offer free after-school services to Kindergarten through sixth grade students who attend schools in the West End Community.  The program is open from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. traditional school days.  For more information, you may contact Sister Wilhelmenia Thornton at (919)489-6077.
