Womanhood Planning
Calling ALL Ladies of ALL ages, we need you! Join the Womanhood Committee and the Pearls of Praise as we plan for the celebration of Womanhood Month 2016. Mark your calendars for February 20th.  The Young Adult Ministry will be hosting an empowerment breakfast for all Young Adults!  Our guest speaker for this event will be Min. Brentley Wright.  The Theme is “Kingdom Building Begins with Self-Building: Pursuing Spiritual Excellence”.  Come enjoy a morning of food, fellowship, fun and most important, Spiritual Empowerment! Celebrating Lady Davis Ladies, please join us for an evening of fine dining, music and dancing as we set sail on a Dinner Cruise on Lake Norman, Mooresville, NC.  Date: June 11th, 5:00 p.m.  Adults-$75, Seniors (65+)-$69 (Senior sponsorships available), gratuities not included.  $20 non-refundable deposit due at sign-up. Attention Youth (ages 12-18)
 You may have an opportunity to attend the all expense paid CENTRIFUGE YOUTH CAMP at Ridgecrest Family Conference Center in Asheville, NC, July 11-15, 2016. To be eligible to attend this event, youth must attend Bible Study and/or Sunday School.  Priority considerations will be giving to students with highest combined attendance in both Bible Study and Sunday School between January 6-May 29, 2016. Parental/guardian permission will be required. Information and details are forthcoming. 
 
The “Deacon Shadowing” Group
 Would like to add more young men to the activities in 2016. We go out on visitations to homes and facilities, participate in church activities, and have educational and vocational field trips. If you are a 10-18 year old young man who would like to expand your community outreach, educational, and vocational knowledge while having a rewarding experience learning more about Christ by serving, please contact Deacon George Perry at (919)801-8701

The Children's Church Ministry
is growing strong as we “Connect with Christ”!  We are looking for additional volunteers.  Please plan to attend a Children’s Church Volunteer Orientation on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.  RSVP to Minister Carroll at carroll@firstcalvary.org

FCBC Nursery
Is available during 10:45 a.m. service for babies and children ages 10 months to 4 years. Parents, please consider joining the Nursery volunteer rotation as you sign your child up!  
 

Evangelism Ministry

AUDIO REQUESTS
If you ministry is having a special event in the Fellowship Hall and you need to use the sound system and/or the microphones, please submit an Audio Forom so the Audio Ministry will know what equipment you  need and are using.  Any broken items will need to be replaced by individual ministries that are responsible for the damage.
 
 
Ministry Opportunity-Drivers 
The Van Ministry is in need of bus drivers. Members that have a regular driver’s license AND/OR a CDL, that have a good driving record, and are willing to serve, please contact Brother Ralph Mack at (919)971-3097.

The FCBC Food Pantry
Always welcomes donations of   non-perishable food items!  Types of Items Needed: rice, beans, jelly, peanut butter, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, canned veggies & fruit, tuna, pickles, soup, etc.  (This is a great community service project for your job or school…or even a great summer project!)

The West End Community Foundation, Inc.
CommUNITY Scholars After School Program is now accepting Applications for this coming school year.  The program is located at The Community Family Life and Recreation Center at Lyon Park (applications at front desk).  We offer free after-school services to Kindergarten through sixth grade students who attend schools in the West End Community.  The program is open from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. traditional school days.  For more information, you may contact Sister Wilhelmenia Thornton at (919)489-6077.

United Way Giving
Please give to the West End Community Foundation, Inc. (formerly Calvary Ministries) through the United Way Campaign, Code 4060.  If you are a Duke Employee give to DGIN (Doing Good in the Neighborhood), these funds are used to support the West End Community Foundation, Inc. After-School Program.

Project Fine
Tutoring sessions will resume on September 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the CFL&RC at Lyon Park Family Life Center. Help is available in all subject areas and on all grade levels. Parents! This is an opportunity for your child to get an early start on academic success. Tutors are needed in all subjects, but especially in math. To volunteer, call Mrs. Shields at 919-688-7833. 
 
 
Do you have a wheelchair, walker, or shower seat collecting dust
HELP, Durham’s new Health Equipment Loan Program, will restore and re-use donated medical equipment to Durham neighbors who need it.  Donate equipment on November 14th, 10:00-a.m.-3:00 p.m. at 2050 Chapel Hill Road.  Call (919)470-7281 for details.  Donations are tax deductible.
