Ministry Staff

We have a unified approach to ministry, and we understand that our gifts are to enhance worship and to aid in edifying the church. Our staff members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our worship.
 
 
Min. Michael Dotson
 Director of Music
Min. Michael Dotson, our Director of Music Ministries, who come to us from Cleveland,OH has been in music ministry for over 30 years. He has been blessed to travel internationally as a music workshop clinician and consultant.
Min. Dotson attended Cuyahoga Community College and Kent State University. For 8 years, he served as the Senior Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Church, a Saturday night ministry, in Cleveland, OH.
 
It is evident that Min. Dotson has a zeal for Christ and a passion for praise and worship. He believes that God has called him to the local body to assist senior pastors. At First Calvary, Min. Dotson's desire is to see the church grow closer to God through praise and worship.
 
He has two children, Kara and Michael II, and a granddaughter, Khloe.
 
 


 
Andre’ Sanders
Percussionist

Andre’ wears many hats at First Calvary. While majoring in instrumental music and education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, he honed his skills as a percussionist, keyboardist, composer and arranger, but his gifts do not stop there. Andre plays guitar and is a wonderful vocalist. His technical knowledge makes him priceless to our music department and congregation.

At NCCU, he interned assisting in royalty disbursement, artists’ contract review and repertoire submission. Andre’ also received The Four-Year Marching Superlative Award and participated in the Symphonic, Concert and Jazz Bands.



David Cannady
Church Musician
 
David, a native of Durham, North Carolina and a graduate of Hillside High School, comes to First Calvary as our church musician.   He has always had a love for music, and has played the tuba for Hillside High School and North Carolina Central University.  He is currently attending North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, and is majoring in music. David has been playing in churches for eight years, and is a wonderful addition to our music department and congregation.
