What is it? We are looking for a Christian musician that is currently studying music, church music, and/or worship leadership with a discipline in one or more of the following areas: voice, choral, organ, piano, guitar to spend 10 weeks with us this summer, 2012, in a full-time capacity. We provide a family to stay with, most meals, reimbursement for any professional expenses, and a hourly wage based on experience. We hold three worship services per Sunday, with average attendance in the mid 400’s each Sunday. There is one contemporary rehearsal mid-week, and some choral, and bell ensemble work on an occasional summer basis. The intern would work closely with all services, any music volunteers/along with the Director of Music & Worship Arts. Depending on the intern's focus and talents, you may participate in one of the following music related activities: work with a VBS contemporary group and song leaders, play Preludes & Offertories as coordinated with the Director of Music.
Other duties may include ensemble/instrumental direction, working with youth musicians either classically, or in contemporary selections.
Attend worship planning meetings, staff meetings, and possible intern meetings with other summer interns at the church.
