Krepps Covered Bridge Festival

The Hickory U.P. Church will sponsor the Washington County Covered Bridge Festival at the Krepps Covered Bridge for the sixth year.  The Krepps Covered Bridge is a working bridge in a beautiful rural setting near the farming community of Hickory, PA.  Attendance has increased each year, and based on feedback from guests and vendors, we are known as a quality event.  We counted 1079 cars in our parking lot during the 2010 event with an estimated crowd of 2500 - 3000.  See scenes from last year’s event.

We feature a different event on the stage each hour, delicious homemade food from the kitchens of Hickory U.P. Church, an antique tractor show on Saturday, antique/classic car and truck show on Sunday, children’s activities, Mountain Men and American Civil War re-enactors, and, of course, fantastic crafts, and home and personal products.  For those suffering withdrawal from college football and the Steelers games, we have satellite TV provided by Satellite Connections on both days.  We are striving to improve the quality of all activities in 2011.

Washington and Greene Counties are the home of 29 covered bridges; this year’s Covered Bridges Festivals will be held at 10 of these sites.  For a driving tour of all the bridges and information about the Washington and Greene Counties Covered Bridge Festival, see http://www.visitwashingtoncountypa.com/coveredbridge.php.
