Long-time Vine Maple Place supporter and volunteer Tina McDonough, whose daughter is a third grader at Rock Creek Elementary, organized a pilot program to bring Vine Maple Place house-shaped coin banks out to the community. It was a perfect fit for the seven 3rd grade classes at Rock Creek, who are learning about being community contributors. Each class had their own Vine Maple Place coin bank and they were given two weeks to fill it. They raised $850 to help the homeless children and their families who live at Vine Maple Place. We love the idea of kids helping kids!
