Rev. Benjamin T. Holloway
Rev. Benjamin T. Holloway was born in New Glasgow, Virginia. He was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church at the early age of 12 and became Superintendent of Local Church Sunday School at the age of 15. He came to Washington and joined the Tenth Street Baptist Church in which he served in many capacities.
Rev. Fred X. Porter, the pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, asked him for help and he joined the church. There he served on the Trustee Board, became Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, Bus Ministry and he also taught the Adult Bible Classes.
He then entered Howard University School of Divinity; thereby God called him to preach the Gospel and he was licensed under the leadership of Rev. David K. North, then the Pastor of Antioch on March 20, 1986. In 1989, he came to St. James Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Elmer D. Johnson and was ordained on Octoer 27, 1990. He became assistant to Rev. Johnson until his death. Rev. Holloway kept the church together with the help of Deacon Richard Black until God gave them a new Pastor Rev. Robert U. Motion.
During this time Rev. Holloway remained the Assistant Pastor of St. James Baptist Church. As God will have it he is now serving as Associate Minister at Community Bible Baptist Church.
