Reverend O’Brien L. Wimbish
O’Brien Wimbish was born on June 24, 1980, in Washington D.C. to Clevester and Diane Wimbish. On October 27, 2007 he married his high school sweetheart Ja’Nell Marie Wimbish. Together they have one son, Caleb Steven Wimbish. O’Brien was educated in the Prince Georges County Public School System from the 6th
grade. He graduated from Largo Senior High School, in 1999.
After graduating high school, O’Brien attended Morris College in Sumter, SC. He received numerous awards, honors and scholarships. While at Morris College, O’Brien worked as a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Specialist for the United Way. O’Brien graduated with honors from Morris College with a B.A. in Sociology.
After graduating from Morris College, O’Brien continued his education at Loyola College in Baltimore MD, studying Pastoral Counseling. He earned his Master’s of Arts degree in Christian Counseling, with a concentration in Youth and Family therapy at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham MD.
O’Brien was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, June 4, 1997 at the Community Bible Baptist Church.
He was ordained on September 9, 2006 at Community Bible Baptist Church. O’Brien has held many positions both religious and secular during his ministry. He was the program coordination for the YWCA’s “Men Facing Violence.”; South Carolina’s Project Alpha/March of Dimes Coordinator; Served as the Assistant Vice-President for the Youth Division of Council of Churches of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area; he work with Young Life, a youth outreach ministry in Washington D.C. and served as the Young Adult and Youth Pastor at the Community Bible Baptist Church. O’Brien currently serves as the Youth Minister at The People’s Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring MD.
