Trinity believes in preparing the Total Child and teaching beyond the basics. First graders at Trinity begin learning Spanish, participating in Music and learning all about Art. Senora Dahms teaches 1st-4th grade and Senora Braxton teaches 5th-8th grade.
Bienvenidos (Welcome) to Spanish at Trinity!
Trinity has recognized that acceptance and enjoyment of a new language facilitates the learning process. So we try to incorporate fun activities in our Spanish classes. During the past year, we have used puppets, songs, role-playing, stacking blocks for counting, mystery bags, charades, learning games, a “store”, etc., and while learning weather words, we even had a “hurricane” in the classroom. (And yes, we do have projects, quizzes, and tests, too!)
Spanish greetings are often heard in the hallways when the children see Señora Dahms. Parents recognize the importance of Spanish in our society today and are happy to see their children using Spanish on occasion outside of the school setting.
Sara enjoys Spanish language learning and the children, and she appreciates Jesus’ words in Matt. 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these!” Children are valued at Trinity!
