PASTOR JOHN FANNING

John Fanning grew up in the Boston, Massachusetts suburb of Brockton. He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and earned a Master of Divinity degree in Church History at Boston University School of Theology.
John and Emily, his wife of more than 41 years, live in Hackettstown. They have two sons who live in the Washington D.C. area.
John and Emily love to travel when they get the chance. Brewster on Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine are their 2 favorite vacation spots.
Like his father before him, John is a lifelong member of “Red Sox Nation.” He follows them on MLB.com and XM radio as often as his schedule allows.
John is rarely without a book nearby. Currently on the active list of his Kindle are Change or Die by Alan Deutschman, Gospel by J.D. Greear, and Creature of the Word by Matt Chandler, Eric Geiger and Josh Patterson.
John’s favorite book of the Bible is whatever he’s currently reading. Right now he’s discovering new truths and treasuring old ones from The Gospel of Luke. His daily Bible reading is supplemented by a devotional commentary written by the 19th-century Anglican Bishop of Liverpool, J.C. Ryle.
John will start a new series on May 19 from the book of Malachi called “Back to the Future.” You can go to the link for “Sermons” or “Listen to Sermons” if you want to read a sermon or hear an audio stream.
John has served on the pastoral staff at Valley View Chapel since December 2003.
