Meet Ruth Graham

Ruth Graham
Position: Founder and President of Ruth Graham Ministries

“Transparent” is the word most people use to describe Ruth Graham, Founder and President of Ruth Graham & Friends.  She is the author of several books, including the award-winning Step into the Bible (Zonderkidz 2007).
Most pertinent to her ministry is her book In Every Pew Sits A Broken Heart (Zondervan, 2004), in which she demonstrates her heart for those who face life’s difficult challenges.  She most recently followed that book up with the publication of Fear Not Tomorrow, God Is Already There (2009, Howard Books).
Ruth is the third child of Rev. Billy Graham and his wife Ruth Bell Graham.
Ruth founded the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry in 2006. She seeks to minister God’s grace and restoration to those who feel marginalized within the church and to better equip churches themselves to address the needs of the hurting in their midst.
No stranger to heartache herself, she provides a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and articulate as she connects with her audiences, talking openly about her own pilgrimage through her husband’s infidelities, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, and returning to school at age 40.

Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher.  She is also a frequent guest speaker – and interview subject – in the news media.  She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN.

She worked in publishing for 13 years as an acquisitions editor and for five years was the Donor Relations   Coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse.  She worked as Major Gifts Officer at Mary Baldwin College.  She graduated cum laude from Mary Baldwin College in 2000 and received the college’s Outstanding Adult Student award.  She also has an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from Eastern University.

Ruth has three grown children and eight grandchildren.  She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.
