We share God's love in many ways here at First Assembly, and one way is through short-term missions trips. Twice each year, our teams of volunteers travel for seven to ten days in a US or foreign missions outreach.
In the spring, our foreign team, consisting of medical, construction, and prayer personnel travel to a selected town in Central or South America. The medical team holds a free clinic, while the construction team builds a church or school. The congregation provides funds for medical supplies and building materials and each team member pays their own travel expenses.
Each summer a smaller team travels to a ‘construction only’ project in one of the various Indian Reservations in Arizona. We stay in a portable bunkhouse, bring our own food and cooks, and travel via church bus. As with the foreign trip, once again the congregation provides funds for project materials. This is a low-cost way to be involved in missions outreach.
In addition, under the direction of our youth pastor and adult leaders, High School and Jr. High students involved in Student Ministries also travel to US and foreign fields for ministry each year.
