"GOING WITH THE GOSPEL"

 

Our Lord gave us a mandate that cannot be denied......"Go into all the world preaching, teaching, baptizing, teaching all things" 

(Matthew 28:19,20) 

At Community, we are totally sold on this command and it is our priority to "seek and save the lost" through the power and the blood of Jesus.

I received this email with a quote from the Former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, concerning out responsibilities to others.  "On September 11, 2001, when everybody was fleeing the buildings and the cops and firefighters and EMS people were heading up into it, do you think any of them said, "I wonder how many blacks are up there for us to save?  I wonder what percentage are whites?  How many Jews are there up there?  I wonder if they are making $400,000 a year or $24,000 a year."  No, they ran up there saving lives....they were all precious.  And that's how we're supposed to live all the time.  How would you want the cops to treat you if you were on the 75th floor that day?  Would you want them to say, 'Excuse me, but I have to get my bosses permission first?'  Not exactly, I confess I have not always lived that way.  But I am convinced that God wants us to do it.  He wants us to value every human life like He does.

Is this not the cry of the church today?  Is this not the responsibilty of every Christian?  It is time, especially in the tough days in which we live, for the church to come alive and reach out and allow the Lord to touch and change lives and destinies through His love.
