Our Pastor

PASTOR KENNETH J. RANSFER, SR.
 
On September 3, 1995 The Rev. Kenneth J. Ransfer, Sr. assumed the position of pastor of the Greater Mt. Baker Baptist Church of Seattle, WA.
 
Pastor Ransfer is a native of Los Angeles, CA.  He was licensed to preach the gospel in November 1978, and ordained in November 1983, by the late Dr. W. L. Robinson, Sr. and Dr. Kenneth C. Ulmer, respectively, pastors of the Faithful Central Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angeles, CA.
 
Pastor Ransfer is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Religion, and from the Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, GA with a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling.  He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry Degree at Bakke Graduate University, in Seattle, WA.
 
Pastor Ransfer has served as Pastor of the Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Huachuca City, AZ; Pastor and Organizer of the First New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Sierra Vista, AZ; and Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Fresno, CA.  Prior to pastoring, he served as Associate Pastor of the First Institutional Baptist Church of Phoenix, AZ under the pastorate of Dr. Warren H. Stewart, Sr.
 
He is a teacher of a wide variety of Bible classes, most notably serving as a guest lecturer at Fresno State University addressing the issue of Blacks in the Bible.  In addition to his pastoral ministry, Pastor Ransfer is also very civic-minded and actively involved in civil rights, prison reform, social justice and community affairs.  He is currently Moderator of the Macedonia Baptist District Association, SecondVice-President of the General Baptist Convention of the Northwest; an Associate Chaplain for the Seattle Police Department; as well as various other organizations.  
 

Pastor Ransfer has traveled throughout the United States, Europe and Africa, preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, and has been recognized by various state and national organizations for his accomplishments.  He is married and has two sons and one grandson.
